Earlier this week I was asked what it takes to set up writer’s notebooks in the classroom: cost, time, content, etc. I shared why I use them in my post last year (The Wonderful World of Writer’s Notebooks), but this post is dedicated to the logistics.(You’re welcome, Jeffery Frieden!) To start, let me say that I keep a writer’s notebook alongside my students. If you want to paint your notebook's cover, then you can paint another piece of paper and glue it on. Or, get a cool printed sheet and glue that to your notebook. You can also repurpose fabric, like old T-shirts or jeans. Then, once your notebook cover is dry, add anything you'd like!
